5. Staff Mobility (ST)

Mobility for teaching purposes/ Staff Mobility (STA)

Erasmus+ sponsors host lectureships at European partner universities which possess a valid Erasmus Charta for higher education (ECHE). Host lecturers shall enhance the European dimension of the host university, complement its teaching offer and communicate their knowledge to students who cannot or do not wish to study abroad.

If possible, the development of joint study programmes of the partner universities, as well as the exchange of teaching contents and –methods shall play a role.

Even staff from foreign organizations and enterprises may be invited to teaching purposes at German universities

Staff mobility must take place in a programme country which is not the country of the sending institution (Income mobility excluded, see below) and which is not the country of principal residence of the respective person.

For teaching purposes, university staff of a German university with ECHE may be funded at a receiving university with ECHE (Outgoing mobility) as well as staff of another institution located in a different programme country (Incoming mobility) which is active in the labour market or in the area of common and professional education and youth (examples, see annex C) for teaching purposes at a German university with ECHE.

Teaching stays within Europe last between two days and two months (without travel duration, respectively); the teaching workload corresponds to eight hours per stay or per initiated week.

The following group of people may be sponsored:

  • Professors and lecturers with contractual relationship to the University
  • Lecturer without endowment
  • Assistant lecturers with service contracts
