Introductory session
Get to know your faculty and your Degree programme. At our Faculty Day, we’ll introduce you to your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programme in the morning and the faculty’s other offerings in the afternoon.

Afternoon programme
After your lunch break, come and get to know your faculty, what it has to offer and the people behind it.

Then join us for our faculty rally for first-year students!
Following the information sessions in the morning, the rally starts in the afternoon at 1.30 pm and lasts until around 4 pm. In small teams, you’ll explore the key points of contact in a fun way, get to know the services and the people behind the faculty – and work together to complete exciting tasks at various stations.

The Life Sciences Student Council (FSR) also welcomes you: the Student Council offers campus tours, organises information sessions to help you get started with your studies, and hands out lab coats to first-year students. Games, music, snacks and giveaways will ensure a convivial atmosphere – and, weather permitting, there’ll be a picnic-style atmosphere on the roof of the canteen. The FSR programme is expected to run from 8.15 am to 5.00 pm.
Laboratory ID cards
To enter the laboratories, you will need a laboratory pass and a lab coat. The laboratory pass will be issued during the Internship. To receive it, you must have successfully completed the general safety induction for the laboratory – you can complete this safety induction online via Moodle.
Entry requirements & recognition

Did your Bachelor’s degree last only 6 semesters (180 ECTS credits) instead of 7 (210 ECTS credits)? If so, you are still 30 ECTS credits short, which you must make up before registering your Master's thesis. You can clarify any questions regarding the nature and scope of the Learning Agreement with the Examination Board.
If you are studying Biological Resources and require a Learning Agreement, please visit the Moodle course ‘BR3 5099 Learning Agreement’ (Course: BR3 5099 Learning Agreement | HSRW Learning Portal) for further information, rather than contacting the Examination Board.
Lab Crash Course (Biological Resources only)
Are you studying Biological Resources? If so, you’ll need to complete and pass the Lab Crash Course – usually during the first week of lectures and, ideally, right at the start of your first semester. Register in advance by enrolling in the Moodle course ‘BR3 5098 Laboratory Crash Course’.
