Bridge Lab

The Bridge Lab is an open learning space within the Faculty where you can develop, test and visualise your ideas and explore them further with others. You can bring your own materials or make use of those available in the Lab. Combining analogue and digital ways of working, the Bridge Lab also provides a space for students from different disciplines to meet, exchange ideas and work together.

No matter what you study, you can use the Bridge Lab to work on assignments, develop your own projects, discuss ideas or present your work. Lecturers can also book the space for classes via the calendar, for example to hold creative breakout sessions.

A range of materials is available for you to use, including basic sets with paper, scissors, pens, markers and glue. You can also experiment with LEGO bricks, natural materials, newspapers and magazines. For digital projects, there are two Apple computers and two PCs, as well as a projector for presenting your work.

The Bridge Lab also hosts regular workshops. Some are designed to provide practical support for your studies, with topics ranging from Figma and presentation tools and techniques to portfolio sessions and the Students' Garden. Others offer an informal setting to explore current and interesting topics, such as music and media as sources of inspiration, the use of artificial intelligence in your studies, advertising as part of our culture of remembrance, or German conversation.

Have an idea for a workshop or a topic you would like to explore? Bring it along – your ideas are always welcome at the Bridge Lab!
