Application process
1. Aptitude test
Until 3 December
For all prospective students
Please email the required documents to MDI-FKU-Aptitude@rhine-waal-university-of-applied-sciences.de
You will receive your result approximately 14 days after the relevant deadline.
The following steps (2 and 3) are only required if you have successfully passed the aptitude test.
2. Application
Until 15 January
Prospective students with a German school-leaving qualification:
Apply via the university’s HIS portal
- Complete the questionnaire there
Prospective students with a foreign school-leaving qualification:
- Apply via uni-assist.de
- Upload all the required documents
- If your application meets all the admission requirements, it will be forwarded to Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences
- You will receive your offer of admission by email

3. Enrolment
Until 15 April

Infos aptitude test
• Completed application form, including a CV
(Please complete the application form and attach it to your digital documents. Your application cannot be processed without the application form.)
• Programme-specific project idea (summary, maximum two pages)
By presenting a project idea, you demonstrate that you can identify opportunities for new approaches in the field of digital media, develop meaningful steps for implementation, and relate your project to related approaches and concepts.
• Project examples (project descriptions in text and images, maximum 15 pages)
Present projects you have already completed, for example from your studies or professional life. In the case of group or commissioned work, your own contribution must be clearly identifiable. Through the project examples, you demonstrate the quality of your work, your ability to present projects clearly, and your interest in digital media and areas where design meets technology.
Formal requirements
- All documents must be submitted in English.
- The total file size of all attachments must not exceed 10 MB.

Once you have passed the aptitude assessment, you must apply via the standard admissions procedure. During this process, your academic records and formal entry requirements will be assessed. If you hold a German entry Qualification to higher education you have to apply via the university’s online application portal. If you do not have a German entry qualification to higher education, please use uni-assist to start the enrolment process. Please note that the online application is mandatory.
Important
You can only be admitted to the degree programme if you meet the requirements of the standard admissions procedure and have successfully passed the aptitude assessment.
The two procedures are independent of one another.
