Why study IBM Dual at HSRW?

Do you want to gain valuable work experience while studying? Then our dual study program International Business and Management, B.A. is perfect for you! Here, you combine a full-fledged degree with practical work in a company – all with an international focus!

Possible IHK Apprenticeship Professions:

  • Industrial Clerk ["Industriekaufmann/-frau"]
  • Wholesale and Foreign Trade Management Clerk (Wholesale) ["Kaufmann/-frau für Groß- und Außenhandelsmanagement (Großhandel)"]

What to Expect in the Dual Study Program?

The best of both worlds: Theory phases at the university and vocational school alternate with practical phases in a company. This way, you can apply what you learn directly and build a strong professional network. Our dual study program offers you:

Theory meets practice – Solid business and management knowledge combined with practical experience.
Earning a salary while studying – Your company supports you financially.
International orientation – Courses in English and intercultural content prepare you optimally for the global economy.
Excursions & practical projects – We emphasize learning by doing and strong business collaborations.
Direct career entry – Many of our graduates secure permanent positions in their training companies.

How it Works!

The cooperation between Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and the Vocational College of Kleve District (Campus Goch) offers a structured study program that optimally integrates theory and practice.

Collaboration & Strong Partnerships

Together with the Vocational College of Kleve District, we offer a unique dual study program. This cooperation is based on a long-standing partnership, ensuring seamless content integration and credit transfer from vocational training to academic studies. The following courses are credited towards your degree upon successful completion of vocational training:

  • Introduction to Business Administration
  • Introduction to Law
  • Introduction to Accounting

Additionally, your vocational training can be recognized as a pre-study internship, fulfilling the study entry requirement.

Through our close collaboration with regional companies, our students gain valuable practical insights. These partnerships are key to continuously improving the curriculum and creating career opportunities for our graduates – including you!

The Application Process

In addition to meeting the general admission requirements (see full-time study program), you must submit a training contract with a company in one of the two mentioned IHK apprenticeship professions when applying.

  1. Find a suitable company – Apply directly to potential employers in the region.
  2. Apply for a study place – After signing your training contract, apply for the dual study program at Rhine-Waal University.
  3. Secure your study place and get started!

Important: The required pre-study internship for our bachelor’s program is fully covered by the vocational training. Unlike the full-time study program, our dual study program has no admission restrictions, ensuring a secure study place.

Tip: Many companies look for dual students early – apply in time!
