5th Research Day at Rhine-Waal University

On 6 November 2019 from 1:00 to 8:30 p.m., the research day will get a second chance and will be rescheduled. The event originally planned for 5 June 2019, unfortunately had to be canceled at very short notice due to a bomb disposal of a bomb from World War II.

Research Day is an annual event directed towards both students and staff. Organised this time in collaboration of the Faculty of Society and Economics, the Central Equal Opportunities Team and the Centre for Research, Innovation and Transfer.

In addition to talks on ongoing research at Rhine-Waal University, this year’s Research Day will include an extra block of events dedicated to the topic of Women in Science. External keynote speakers and researchers at Rhine-Waal University will provide audiences with insight into current research topics.

Fresher's Week: Faculty Day Society and Economics on Tuesday (24.9.)

This year's "Freshers' Week" starts on September, the 23rd at the Rhine-Waal University for the winter semester 2019/2020. The Faculty of Society and Economics also wants to welcome their new students. On the faculty day (Tuesday 24.9.), the freshers will learn about the offers and the organization of the faculty including an exciting rally. Preparatory Courses 2019/20

The preparatory courses of the faculty of society and economics are starting a few weeks befor winter semester and are directed towards first semester students of the bachelor programmes. Their goal is to harmonise or refresh the students' level of knowledge.

Visit of the National Technical University – Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute in Kharkiv / Ukraine

Prof. Dr. Gregor van der Beek and Prof. dr. Jakob Lempp visited the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute in Ukraine from the 9th to 11th of July 2019. The university is one of the oldest universities in the country and is characterized by a large number of international contacts, including Germany.

The Faculty Society and Economics is proud to release her graduates to start their professional life

With a festive ceremony and a following champagne reception, the Faculty Society and Economics released this year’s Bachelor and Master Graduates and wished them all the best for their future.

On 1st July 2019 87 graduates and their families and friends experienced a moving afternoon with many speeches and honors. The ceremony was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Thomas Pitz who was playing the piano. In his speech the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ralf Klapdor thanked the graduates of the Faculty Society and Economics: “We are proud of our graduates, especially the international graduates, because they had to get used to a foreign society and culture. But also the German graduates benefit from the unique, international atmosphere and we hope that after graduation both groups will take these positive impulses and experiences along on their further life.”.
