Ambitious musicians from around the university have come together to form a symphony orchestra which consists mainly of students, but also of staff and external musicians. It has previously been presented to the public on various occasions such as the annual academic celebration. Under the direction of Killian Florijn, the university orchestra aims at bringing students and employees at the university together through musical means and by playing popular classical and contemporary pieces with rehearsals taking place throughout the semester. New committed players from all musical groups are welcome to come down to rehearsals. There are also places available for musicians who are not members of the university, if you are interested, please get in touch with university music...and bring your own music stand!
Musical enthusiasts that would like to play in an orchestra have the opportunity to play with local ensembles such as the orchestra in the music school in Kamp-Lintfort or the city church in Moers.
