-Technically sound, socially competent: Staying on top of things as a generalist-
The modern mechanical engineer is a generalist. His broad expert knowledge in connection with social and management skills allows him to take over the role of problem-solver in interdisciplinary teams. He is able in complex, rapidly-changing requisition situations to accurately assess new technical developments and trends and within the team to develop and market innovative products and services. He operates communicatively across cultural as well as across professional boundaries.
