Analysis, design and evaluation of computer applications are focal points of the master degree course „Usability Engineering”. Computer applications are omnipresent and the technological development leads to invariably new fields of application and to changing technical use. In order to do justice to people and their requirements, the necessity to gain increase in quality and efficiency and the changing working conditions and occupational areas, there is a need of well qualified experts in this innovative field of science.

Consolidation and improvement of existing concepts, trend assessment, development of new concepts bearing in mind legal and marketing aspects, cost-benefit consideration and the requirement of the intended target group, demand a multidisciplinary education. High technological competence, knowledge of successful interaction concepts and human information processing, design capacity and mastering methodical concepts of Usability Engineering are content of the training.

The Master degree course is designed for computer scientists, designers and psychologists, media scientists and people in the creative industry who wish to become experts in Usability Engineering based on their specific expert knowledge. Cross-industrially, these processes of development are accompanied by computer-based solutions which have to meet the increasing demands on usability and attractiveness.
