Entry requirements

Are you interested in studying at Rhine-Waal?

As well as a higher education entrance or a subject-specific university entrance qualification we accept a broad range of other qualifications and welcome applications from all international students.

Our International Office will be happy to advise you on what credentials from your home country you will need to provide. Specific information about entry requirements for different countries is also available at:

Specific requirements for this degree programme:

  • Good knowledge of German (at least a B2.2 level (Test DaF level 4, DSH level 2 or equivalent).
  • 8 weeks of work placement by the start of the 4th semester. Previous work placements may be recognised.
  • Interest in information technology, interdisciplinary cooperation and scientific as well as technical challenges.

 

How to combine vocational and academic elements

If you are intrested in combining commercial training and study, you might want to take on the following study path:

1st – 4th semester

Vocational training 3 days a week

Classes at University three days a week

              Completion of vocatinal training

                       IHK (CCI) exam

5th – 7th semester

Full-time study

        8th semester

Work placement (at a company)

        9th semester

Please note that the application deadline is the 15th of July. Exceptions to the deadline are made for transfer students who may also apply for the summer semester by the 15th of March.
